FAQ

What is a font license?

A font license gives you the right to use a font. There are different types of licenses for different areas of use. On this website you can purchase desktop, web and app font licenses. It is important to understand that by purchasing a font license you do not own the font, you only get the right to use it. The font license is also known as the EULA which stands for “End User License Agreement.” The EULA specifies the terms and conditions of use, and serves as the legally binding contract between you and Missionflats Type. You are both advised and required to read the EULA before making a purchase. This is to ensure that you agree to the terms and understand what you can and can’t do with our fonts. If you have any questions regarding licensing or if you require extended or customized licensing, please contact us.

What kind of license do I need?

It depends on how you want to use the font. There are three different types of licenses on this website available: desktop, web and app. Each license type has different areas of use.
1.Desktop licenses: For use in logos, printed materials (business cards, annual reports, posters, advertisements), printed publications (magazines, books, brochures) and social media (static images such as jpg and png or motion graphics such as animated gif’s or .mp4) . Costs are calculated by the number of users that will install the fonts on their computers.
2.Web licenses: For embedding the fonts on web pages using the @fontface tag. The costs are calculated by the web traffic on the corresponding URL (average page views of one months). webfont license allows the fonts to be used on one domain that is owned and controlled by the licensee. Separate licenses are required for additional domains and/or different licensees.
3.App licenses: For embedding and use in mobile or desktop apps. The costs are calculated according to the number of apps.
If your case is not listed here, please contact us to discuss with you the right license type.

Can I share my license with somebody else?

No, only under certain conditions. If you want to share the fonts within a team or your friends, an individual desktop license must be purchased for each computer.
